So, are there any new learnings or treatments that have been announced recently?

Just two weeks after the conference, it's out on DVD for anyone to get.

www.ilads.org

2009 ILADS Lyme Disease Conference CD-ROM

---------

Looks like it's for PCs - MAC folks, ask first.

bigstan,

It isn't a CD (something you listen to)...it is a CD-ROM, which means you stick it in your computer, and then you'll have the information on your computer.

My brain fog is really bad, so I wasn't able to read the details, but it seems like you'll be getting articles/presentations (but would these appear like video, or just be the powerpoint slides, etc?) Or maybe some of it appears as text.

Not sure if anyone can answer that question.

Does anyone have this CD-ROM?

I can't afford it right now, but I'd love to buy it eventually.

If it was given at the ILADS conference does that mean it is not a DVD of the presentations held during the conference? ..like the ones that were sold a few years ago? Is this one different?

I have a feeling it just text in PDF format. When you look at the table of contents on the bottom right of the page, it says "Click on the buttons above to view and download pdf files."

There are no PDF links whatsoever on that page, they probably copy pasted the table of contents from the actual CD and didn't remove that text.

Anyway I clicked contact us on the ILADS site and asked if the CD includes the Videos. Will respond here if I get an answer.

Funny I got one now. "It is a CD not a DVD. It does not include videos. Hopefully, next year we will have the money for that."

BTW: The site refers to it as a DVD in one spot and CD in one spot hence the confusion about what it really is! I replied letting them know this.

The good news is their knowledge of biofilms now.

This opens up new doors for research.

You can ask the LDA if the DVD will be coming out this year. I got the 2007 set through the LDA: http://www.lymediseaseassociation.org

--------

This CD-ROM of text is fully searchable. Looks like for PCs only (MAC people should call and inquire first). I see it as a real bargain for the price. Reading text may be harder than viewing an presentation, but you don't have to take notes, it's already all done for you.
----------

http://www.ilads.org/store/store_lyme_dvd.html

The full 2009 ILADS Lyme Disease Conference program is available now as a CD-ROM for PCs only.

The CD-ROM inlcudes:

* 2 keynotes,

* 6 plenary sessions and the

* 36 hours of programming from the Conference Workshops as well as

* nearly 200 pages of evidence based medicine written submissions to the July 30, 2009 IDSA hearings in Washington.

* The written presentations represent months of preparation by [eleven presenters].

** The CD-ROM is fully searchable and is a valuable tool when searching for the evidence underlying treatment recommendations.
