My 28 year old son was terminated form his job due to the amount of sick days he has had the last 3 years. He has always had doctor notes with his restrictions and time off. This is clearly discrimination due to his Lyme disease and mental health issues form the Lyme. He will loose his health benefits in Jan.Has anyone fought something like this using the American with Disability Act or American Civil liberties Union.

Make sure to check the laws for your state.

I was terminated for being ill, despite doctors notes and documentation of my illness.

Besides that I worked in a hospital!

Unfortunately, in Texas, you can be fired at ANY time for ANY reason.

I even contacted an attorney as well as the state labor board.

They both told me there was nothing they could do.

In Texas, being fired for being sick is completely legal.

Hope the laws in your state are more forgiving.

Best of luck!!!

Stefanie
