above is about my colonoscopy done 11-13 and
what all has transpired to date....

gi dr. who performed 3 polyp removals REFUSED TO PLACE AN ORDER from pathology to see if my tissue is still there from last wks. removal?

i gave his rn's timaca's above comments on the enterovirus testing using tissue from this to do this procedure.

his rn called; HE DOESN'T THINK IT'S NECESSARY TO TEST AND WILL NOT PLACE AN ORDER W/PATH. if i wish to pursue, contact your pcp.

so i did, and explained to his rn the history and why i want this testing after 3 hrs. research and watching lecture about testing.

it affects chronic fatigue, and mine has gotten so much worse this past year.

pcp is on vac. until mon; she will talk to him then.

i called path back and explained what was happening.

for those of you who have tested or TRIED to test, did you run into the same obstacles ... DR. THINKS TESTING IS NOT NEEDED? [toilet] hog wash!

thanks for replies!! [Smile]

Hi BettyG~

Hopefully your PCP will ask for the tissue to be tested for enterovirus. Have you found someone to do the testing? Have you also had serum antibody testing done for enterovirus? (echovirus and coxsackie B?)

If you have not found someone to do the testing, then you might want to contact Dr. Chia's office in CA and see if he would do it.

Keep us posted! Good luck.

Timaca

timaca,

thx for your comments and suggestions.

NOPE, no testing done ever on 2 things you mentioned.

i wasn't going to try to find someone to test until i knew for sure MY TISSUE STILL EXISTS! and no one will tell me YES OR NO on that one!

i'll keep that in mind about calling calif.

hubby feels i should just drop this since gi dr. said "it's not needed"! so it's hard to pursue when i'm trying to keep him informed and happy too.

timaca,

i've been running into 1 wall after another!

gi surgeon who removed polyps doesn't think i need enterovirus testing having never talking in office setting w/me.

his nurse said she wouldn't call to see if my tissue was still there or not. I'M TO CALL. I DID.

hospital needs drs. order to tell me ... yes or no tissue is still there!

gi still refused; if i want to pursue; call your pcp; i did.

he got back mon. rn asked him today after this. he didn't know what it was but looked it up somewhere. he was deferring to gi dr.

she told him gi dr. said it's not needed; so he agreed, and will NOT ORDER either! i expressed how i felt about that BS!

i explained more to her on being misdx 35 yrs. by 40-50 of clinic drs. where she works.

i'd done 3 hrs. of research and listened to 2 enter...specialists lectures.

but THEY SHOULD BE TELLING ME YES OR NO; my tissue is still there, and i need LOCAL COOPERATION!

i said i'm thinking of pursuing w/calif. specialist, but he still needs to know FIRST IF TISSUE EXISITS. she finally agreed to that.

i asked her to call over to pathology and talk to them. so disgusting to fight for everything !!
