A week ago, I switched my Rx protocol to Biaxin / Ceftin (both 500 mg 2 x day).
The last two days I've had a ton of neck pain. It feels like the lymph node - I think - on the left side of my neck is completely swollen. It hurts so bad to touch. It's throbbing at times.
My neck / jaw got so tight 2 days ago I was ready to snap. It has subsided a bit.
I never had this severe of a reaction on my Zithromax alone (for 2 months) or my Zith / Omnicef combo regiman for 1 month.
Perhaps, the new drug combo hits a wider spectrum of bugs? Better for Lyme? Any thought?
I also upped my Malarone tablets from 1 per day to 2 per day on my own. I was on 2 a month ago, but my LLMD cut me to one. Honesrly, the LLMD didn't seem to care of I was on them at all.
My Babesia protocol for 3 months has been:
Month 1: 4 Malarone tablets for 3 days - that's it.
Month 2: 2 Malarone tablets per day for 30 days
Month 3: 1 Malarone tablet per day for 30 days

My doctor gave me 1000mg biaxin daily for babesia. I have not heard of anyone else doing this, but that is why she gave it to me.

Wow, interesting. I have felt better today than I have for a long time after the pain last night. I think Babesia is my major issue. I wonder if Biaxin is hitting Babesia?

It could be hitting babs. And since you upped your malarone, I bet it is.
Also bart, and with your lymph node feeling painful - hmmm... sounds kind of barty, too.
Great news that you had a good day!

I took Biaxin for Bart, but it was in combo with Bactrim.

2 weeks ago i took 500mg flagyl and 1000mg biaxin to start up my tx again
i thought i would die from pain and then intense itching everywhere
i stopped abx and tylanol after one day-got good air purifyer, got rid of all stuff that used to make my mcs act up and 10 days later i am finally getting rid of itching-the pain took about 5 days to stop.
i guess it was a herx and overwhelmed liver-but liver tested ok-what do you think?
