Okay, I have heard all sorts of contraversies relating to a woman with chronic lyme (under control) who decides to become pregnant.
BUT, I am wondering about what anyone's thoughts are pertaining to a gestational carrier (surrogate) who does not have lyme but agrees to become pregnant for a woman who has chronic lyme.??
I mean, lyme (or co-infections) may be passed through the placenta. But if the biological mother is NOT carrying the child does that mean the baby cannot get lyme/co-infection?
I hope this question does not seem too confusing.

I am sorry as I would hate to even guess on that one. A very good question though!!
I know that it can be and is sometimes sexually trasmitted. Although in can be transmitted by both, men are more likely to give it too women.
Once the egg is fertilized, I don't know about it being passed to the baby; but with the inside of the Uterous and the egg being mucosa, I might be concerned about the sarrugut??????
I know that the thought is that Lyme is passed through the Placenta and/or breast milk. However, if that's the only way then why can't we be an organ doner??????
If it were me, I would call every single LLMD that would give me his or her thoughts on it!
And honestly if it were me doing this, I would like the sarogut (sorry, I know that's splet wrong!), to take a low dose antibiotic just in case.
I pray that you find your answer. If it is you wanted to do this, and I assuming it is, I do pray that this can happen for you!!!!!
Please let us know!

I really do appreciate your response- thank you.
I absolutely agree with you that I need to speak to other LLMD's. The problem is however, that even the LLMD's tell me they do not know the answer. Well, actually there is one LLMD that only works with pediatrcis. I called his office three times but still no response.
What kind of a world are we living in that such a disease is out there and because of the lack of resources and research we will not be entilted to such important answers; answers that will keep us safe?
oh well. thanks again.

Hi......I'm sorry to hear that...kids are such a big part of a lot of peoples lives....
I don't understand this whole disease... I believe I became infected in 93. I have 3 kids. They were born in 95,97, and 05. And I breastfed them all over a year.
I just found out I was positive to Lyme, after years and years of no diagnosis.
Now I am trying to have them tested, doctors say there is no need, but we all know most of them are idiots..... and they are pretty healthy kids. But this is a tricky disease so I still want them tested. But I feel as though no answer is a good one, because even if they test neg I know I will wonder if the test is right, since there are so many false neg.
I don't know what to tell you, I have heard a lot of bad things about pregnancy and Lyme, and good ones.
Do your best to find a Lyme doc, I truly hope you do. I can't seem to find one near me in NC that takes ins. Unfortunatley, I can't go to one that doesn't.
God bless
