Hi again ya'll,

I was just diagnosed and am concerned about my kids. I became sick before I had my children.

I just want to be on the safe side and have them do the western blot, however, my ped says there is no written cases of congenital lyme.

Can anyone tell me where I can have him read. He will dismiss it, if it's not a documented case.

Thanks a lot

There are many articles. You might start with a simple google search.

You can also do a search here as many have discussed it. Forum search feature is above.

Lyme Net Research link: http://search.lymenet.org

Gestational lyme, or gestational borreliosis would be additional terms under which to search.

Another search to provide research is: "Lyme, Autism"

First, I would drop this doctor. Why pay someone who is not up to speed? Now, just because there is such a thing might not mean your kids would have it, however, you need a physician who is well educated. I think we all have to stop paying doctors who are not.

-----------------

I would still look at the science link here ( http://search.lymenet.org ) and at ILADS ( www.ilads.org ) but here's a start:

www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez

PubMed Search:

Gestational lyme - 7 abstracts

Gestational borreliosis - 10 abstracts

Congenital lyme - 30 abstracts

Congenital borreliosis - 35 abstracts

prenatal syphilis - 558 abstracts

lyme, autism - two abstracts

Staying with this doc is a recipe for disaster, BTW.

Thanks ya'll...I agree the doc needs to go, can't find a doc still lyme literate.

Infectios disease at the hospital told me they treat lyme, but most likely I don't have it, because I live in NC. This is a WELL respected hospital too.

I feel almost as lost as I did trying to get a diagnosis.
