i poste this under the new bart post..but thought it would interest those dealing with this type of gi pain. it seems i finally found the anser for me. i'm not "cured" yet-but i'm happy it seems like something is working.

this is other post:

"thank you for this thread.

can those on rifampin "combo" please mention what else they took with rifampin

i have never tested pos for bart but i have a lot of symptoms

started rifampin alone last week and herxed big time immediately with pain, fatigue and psyc stuff that was very scarey-anx, dep, uncontrolled crying...scarey -messed up thinking(not suicidal tho)

i am continuing rifampin at only 150 am and 150 pm - still herxing but can handle it. maybe when load is knocked down i can get up tp 600 once a day

again thanks for this post...

oh-ps-this is important:

one of herx pains was very bad pain in nodules under my left ribs. i have had this pain getting worse for 3 years. had ct, ultrasound, palpitation by many docs-no one can figure it out. first time i take rifampin-poof-pain right in that spot.

my llmd says he has had patients with lots of nodules on spleen go away with tx-he said don't worry about testing anymore -just tx...

so now i get really happy when i have pain under my ribs...wierd disease(s) - but we'll see"

Talk to your doctor and don't try and get your information from people that aren't professionals.

Lymeloco: The whole point of posting is that there are people who have had similar symptoms - some have had exactly the same symptoms. Most of us are in the care of a professional. Here we learn about other people's experience and compare notes. We learn from other people's experience and treatments.

Ipkayak: I'm sorry you are having these problems. Don't know if you are Herxing or if other problem is flaring up. I hope someone else will be able to help you out. Just wanted to give a hug and support.
Hope you feel better very soon.

I have honestly at times learned more things here about treatment and the disease then I have from any of my doctors.

i guess it was unclear because i cut and pasted from another thread

when i said this:

"one of herx pains was very bad pain in nodules under my left ribs. i have had this pain getting worse for 3 years. had ct, ultrasound, palpitation by many docs-no one can figure it out. first time i take rifampin-poof-pain right in that spot.

my llmd says he has had patients with lots of nodules on spleen go away with tx-he said don't worry about testing anymore -just tx..."

my point was that my llmd made me feel so much better that the pain under my ribs when i herxed was probably the rifampin doing its job...and hopefully my nodules and gi problems will go away with rifampin tx like his other patients

so-i am listening to my doc

i have a masters degree and 60 grad credits and minored in lit---you'd never know it the way i write now...my poor, foggy brain
