Was wondering if anyone here has tried the transderm patch for severe vertigo? Yep, still have it. The ativan has helped some. I get my MRI results tomorrow.
There has to be SOMETHING that helps. yes, I am in treatment but right now I need quick relief.

Have you tried the drug serc? AKA Novo Betahistine?
I really feel for you as I had vertigo for several months this summer. Vertigo is absolutly the worst symptom
Also try raising the head of your bed

Have ginger capsules helped at all? I'd start there.
I tried that patch years ago when flying. It did help reduce vertigo, but it made me incredibly sleepy even for days after the patch was removed and it caused a very dry mouth. I slept through my vacation in a hotel bed.
If it comes in different strengths, you might get the lower strength and start there.
Q: I've just been reading some articles on the web about the transderm patch. It says that you may experience drowsiness when using it. Is this common, or is it just the usual small print that they are obliged to print . . . ?
A couple of replies:
- "Drowsiness"? How about comatose? . . . by the second evening I was so drugged out I could hardly remember what I had done over the course of the day. It got so bad that I ripped off the patch on the third day.

- For my first cruise, I brought along the patch. I experienced, drowsiness, dry mouth, AND blurry vision.
A cold cloth to the arteries in the sides of you neck may help.
In addition to ginger tea and ginger capsules, I have seen near miracles in regard to stopping vertigo in it tracts when flying - buy using homepathic remedies.
One is a combination for motion sickness that I got at the AAA Travel store. It worked very well.
Two others that my ND gives me are: Boiron homeopathic Tabacum -30 c and also Cocculus Indicus - 30 c
You can use those separately or together.
Boiron - or other brands of homeopathic pellets - can be found at most health shops and some groceries that carry organic foods. Ask the supplement clerk for instructions - under the tongue, no food or drink for 20 minutes before or after, etc.
Caffeine and mint will negate the effects, so best to avoid that.
