The current text book treatment for babesia is mepron (aka malarone) + an antibiotic (usually a macrolide like zithrmax but others are OK too from what I have seen). Quinine + and antibiotic (erythromycin if I am not mistaken) is also used , cheaper but not as good.

Doxy also works for bartonella (maybe no thte best though) as well as several other (thats why doxy is used as early first line lyme treament).

At least that what I an recall but I am not your Dr. so don't use this info for your treatment. Your Dr will have to work out the details on treament.

If Malarone or Mepron would be prescribed for Babesia, I believe they are not to be taken with doxycycline.

Have you had testing done for co-infections yet?
