I would like to get tested I mean really tested for Heavy Metal Toxicity, I did the home pee test that I bought offline but I want the real deal.
I am currently getting my amalgams removed and would also like to chelate when I'm done so I need a doctor willing to help me with that too.
Who did you go to? I've been to an allergist and he didn't want to test me because metal is not the issue. . .
My holistic doc was more focused on other things. Thyroid etc.
Who do you think will take me seriously?
Thanks. Melissa

Your only real chance is with a holistic doctor if you want alternative tests such as a provoked urine challenge. Regular docs will laugh in your face about these as well as hair tests.
If you just want blood levels or 24-hour urine levels (unprovoked), you could probably get on your hands and knees and beg your PCP to run the tests. They are more mainstream.

I got the tests run years ago from a doc that was conventional/holistic as well I got treated with Chelation from a local holistic clinic along with other IV treatments and he verified and used my test results. I think you have to make some calls and find out who will do this. Most likely a Holistic doctor or if you do some research on a doctor who has a DO insteald Of MD they usually are open to alternative thinking and tests too. Good luck I did the testing on the teeth too but decdied not to take them out and the tests were not conclusive enough to persuade me... Good Luck..

Sometimes one good way to find holistic/functional/complementary medical doctors and practitioners in your area is to call your local compounding pharmacy.
Compounding pharmacies are generally a tier above the run-of-the-mill regular pharmacies. The compounding pharmacies usually have alot of contact with medical doctors in their area who "think outside the box", for example.
I agree with emla's recommendations on looking for an ACAM doc, as well.

Thanks for the recommendation!!!! I actually put in my zip code and my Holistic Doctor was the first to come up. Maybe I just need to get more serious with her and tell her this is something I am interested in testing for will she or not?
Thanks for all your advice and help!!
Happy Turkey Day everyone!!! Melissa
