Long story short, I saw my LLMD Monday for the first time. I told him of the throat symptoms I have been having such as tightness, gagging feeling, numbness and he ordered an ultrasound.

I just had the ultrasound and they see small cysts all over my thyroid. Is this related to Lyme?

I called my LLMD and left a vm. Why is it that it takes ONE visit with an LLMD to order the right tests and YEARS with the regular docs?

I have a multi-nodular goiter. Have had it for over 20 years now. Mine was found by my gyn at an annual check-up.

It's now monitored by my endo. Was it caused by Lyme? Probably!

our thyroids/lyme overlap in problems. best wishes on getting more info.

My LLMD noticed a lump on my thyroid about a month ago, I had an ultrasound, and it too turned out to be multi-cystic.

My LLMD says that thyroid malfunction is frequently associated with Lyme and chronic disease.

Your next step will probably be a Thyroid Scan, just to rule out cold nodules.

I had this too. The radiologists report said to re-evaluate in 2 years.

My LLMD never thought much of it but the tight throat, gagging feeling did go away while on antibiotics.

Maybe the throat symptoms are from Lyme but the cysts just happened to be there.

Who knows...
