To the person who was upset at my post about Dr. J. and who defended deleting the threads on the subject: I did not "trash" Dr. J.

I told a heartfelt, factual story about what happened to my daughter when she visited him, desperately seeking help. The visit was very disappointing, and there seemed to be some irregularities in his practice.

It is always healthy for a forum to tolerate diversity of opinion. Lymenet is a good forum, but this has, in the past, sometimes been one of its weaknesses.

Before "newbies" commit thousands of dollars and travel hundreds of miles, to visit the one pediatric LLMD suggested here, I would suggest there are many alternatives. That's all.

My daughter did not get help from Dr. J., but she has gotten help elsewhere, help that was w/in an hour's drive of our home, and covered by insurance.

She was very, very sick, but is now at a top college and thriving.

I am happy to hear that others were helped by Dr J., but I also want parents to know there are many routes to health.

Shosty,

thank you for your post. I had not see the original post.

No one doctor is the best fit for everyone at all times.

It does seem logical to share the range of experiences and other sources of help, too. Glad you found someone closer who takes insurance, too.

Shosty I saw nothing wrong with your original post on the subject.

More than one member here has had a less then perfect experience with a LLMD. We are all individuals here so of course we are not all going to love the same LLMD. You were stating your experience and not bashing that LLMD as some have said.

If the person who started the thread did find some wrong with your posts and wanted you to move your post to your own thread and asked you to do so politely I am sure that things would have been more pleasant for everyone and the atmosphere on the board would have been better for all members.

Instead the person who started the thread posted icons spewing green vomit in anger and deleted the whole thread. Not a harmonious experience for me or many members.

I think there is room for everyone's opinion and experience on this forum if people reply to each other respectfully.

There was nothing wrong with your original post.

I felt terribly for your daughter, I can't imagine the disappointment you experienced, going to New Haven to see Dr. J with such high expectations and being treated the way you were.

I have had a few not so great experiences with a few top ILADS doctors myself, I would not even think to post about it after what I've seen happen on this forum, as you noted in your original post, every time you have tried to tell your story here on lymenet, it has been deleted... which is a shame, really, that we can't be more accepting and realize that no LLMD is perfect, and everybody's experiences are their own.

I am glad to hear your daughter is well now and thriving at college, I hope she continues to do well.
