According to research, ingesting MSM elevates liver glutathione levels, which we understand helps you feel better from a herx.

MSM is basically a sulfer which feeds the cells.

This is working for me. I have a huge can of bulk MSM powder (not to be confused with MMS, the mineral stuff) that I got from Bio-Alternatives.

It doesn't taste like much, so I add it to drinks. I take about 1 1/2 tsp a day. It's just cell food, so from what I understand you can't overdo it, unless you are a person who genetically has difficulty eliminating sulfer.

Here's one research study on it:

Thanks.

Does anyone know a good basic dosage to take?

I have the pill form style.

4,000-8,000 mg per day. Approximately 2 tsp of MSM powder.

I buy most things in capsule form, but my naturopath suggested this in bulk because it is so much cheaper this way, and easy to swallow.

This is just one thread that covers MSM, etc. Do a search with my name and you will find more.

MSM is one of the better tools we have.

Take care.

GiGi, thanks for that link.

Sounds like a good 1/2 pack of Emergen-C with a 1/2 tsp of MSM four times a day would be a good choice.

In your opinion do we need to take any other binding agents if stirring up metals with MSM, vit C and electrolytes, or will the MSM cart it out.

I'm treating my child with a Sanum that is supposed to release metals. So far she does not test for needing cilantro or chlorella. Maybe I just need to watch for this daily, and give those to her if or when it shows.

After the melamine scare I am worried about MSM sources from China. Does anyone know a safe source manufactured elsewhere?

Thanks for the dosage info. I was only taking 1000mg a day. Seems like more would be better.

Good suggestion about the melamine consideration.... I heard it's in alot of feed that they give animals & fish - that gets consumed by humans later on down the food chain.

Here's some further info about MSM -

I took about two full teaspoons a day when I was fighting multiple TBIs, it was the best thing ever for herxes.

I think it works very well for babesia herxes but one needs to take quite a few times a day. I think in my worst days, I felt like eating this bulk powder in teaspoons, like a drug addict!!!
