I saw my LLMD today and he had run some standard lab work...you know, checking the liver, etc, just standard tests.
He said something about elongated blood cells and said it could happen due to the lyme as being autoimmune but took more blood today.
I've done a search and not really knowing what he may even be looking for if this could be caused for lyme and why more testing and when asking questions, he basically said it could be a lot of things. But no real answers.
Does anyone medically know what this means? I guess I should have taken notes to the exact test this came from. Any ideas are always appreciated.

I had written this note almost a year ago and did a search on this topic to see if there was information on it and only stumbled on my own post.
I was told I had elongated blood cells from my first LLMD. I have since been referred to Dr. R and he has been doing weekly blood work on me while I have a port with so many meds raising liver enzymes, etc.
My visiting nurse was out today and gave me a copy to last weeks results. Does this make sense to ANYONE????
Morphology......
Ovalocytes Occasional
Burr Cells Occasional
Spherocytes Slight
I see Dr R next Wednesday but in the mean time, I guess I'm trying to get an indication on what some of this means.
With it, I have low Glucose, low Sodium, low Chloride, low Creatinine, high ALT-SGPT, and high MCHC. These were not the case before I started IV.
