Good reminder. A lot of people come and get help and then disappear until they need help again. Need to keep a good supply of helpers. Also, the archives are a place to search.
I think empathy is a prime thing for newby replies, later as they become more educated, they can respond by comparing symptoms, responses, treatments, etc.

stjohn,
Don't feel bad about "bumping" your own questions if you aren't getting enough answers. I know it can be frustrating......sometimes people don't have answers, or may breeze over the title, but if you bump something a couple times it might help.
At least "i smell bad" was a legitimate medical question relating to lyme and coinfections (bad B.O. is a babesia symptom....it's important people know things like that)......I hate it when people put things in "Medical Questions" that aren't medical questions, or are medical questions but aren't related to detoxing or TBD's.
That just bogs up the first page when it could be being used to people with legit questions like yours.

When we envisioned the LymeNet Flash BB, 10 years ago, we had a simple thought ... "Lyme victims helping Lyme victims".
All of us on the LymeNet team or our family members had been affected by Lyme and had gotten help from others. We wanted to find a way to give back and for us the answer was the LymeNet Flash BB. Just like the support group meetings we had attended but with a worldwide reach 24/7 via the Internet. Lyme victims helping Lyme victims!!!
All of you have made that original vision a reality many thousands of times over as you came here to get help and information and paid it back by helping other Lyme victims. Thank you Thank YOU, THANK YOU!!!
I wish you all a joyous holiday season and an especially healthy Happy New Year.

Stjohn,
Please don't swear off posting questions!! I've noticed in the last month or so that there haven't been nearly enough responses.
I think it's the Holiday season, mixed with people sick with Lyme. The two just don't mesh well! I think after the holidays things will go back to normal - normal being a lot of people answering others posts.
Also as Hoos pointed out, bump up your question - I do! Ain't no shame in my game, LOL!

St john, it is more likely that people did not feel they had anything useful to say on your post. They weren't ignoring you, just didn't have a comment that would help.
If you reply to your own post, like "still looking for an answer" or just "up", it kicks your post back up to the top of page one so people who didn't see it the first time will have a chance. This is a busy board, and posts sink down to page 2 pretty fast.
Then again, we are only patients and some posts might be over our heads, beyond our ability to answer.

bumping means putting any type of a reply on it, and it right to the TOP of that forum vs. staying in the lower posts!
up is bumping or just using an icon or a .. will do!
i don't know many answers but if someone has NO replies .. i'll tell them i have no experience and say i'm putting their post back at the top for another shift of members to read....
don't take it personal; yes, UP your own posts if no answers in 24 hours! we all have different schedules of being on here.

Thanks for the reminder. I admit to being a bad girl.
I never ask questions anymore, even when I want to, because we don't get email notification here when someone answers, and I forget to come back and look because of what Lyme did to my memory.
I hardly ever reply to posts either.
There are two reasons for that: 1) my answer, which took a long time to type, gets ignored as if it weren't even there. OR 2) I get bombarded with PM's about my answer, and I feel I must answer them right away, in order not to make anyone feel I am ignoring them, even if I don't have the time, so I get ticked off (pun intended).
Both reasons are selfish, so I will try to put my two cents in more often.

klutzo, and newbies,
if YOU start a post, yes, you CAN RECEIVE ALL REPLIES to your post.
just go to lower left corner of your 1st post and mark box to receive all replies! works slick.
we don't get replies to those we POST ON ORIGINATED BY OTHERS.
