I've been thinking about my recent muscle biopsies I had done in 2008 due to an extensive neuromuscular work-up. As a standard practice, facilities save some specimens of my muscle in case further analysis is needed in the future. The muscle is flash frozen.
The biopsies were of my quadriceps which happens to be my most affected area. Is there ANY chance Bb could be cultured/DNA sequenced in this tissue? Everyone says Lyme hides outside of the blood in tissues and other areas. Could I actually prove I have Bb in my tissues? Could a lab like Clongen do this?
I'd love to hear your thoughts. I'm guesing it being flash frozen is a detriment to the process.

Good idea! I'd certainly get it checked.
Sorry I can't say what labs will take specimens in what shape.. but hopefully you can check with them and/or other folks may know?

We have sent my daughters GI biopsies as well as a tissue biopsy to be tested for Lyme and other TBD's, the GI Biopsy was positive, the tissue biopsy was negative. I'm not sure what lab they were sent to, I'd have to ask our LLMD.
I think its a great idea. My daughter is having a muscle biopsy in March, I think I will see if this is possible.

I have also seen a biopsy used to detect keets under a microscope by a pathologist. Not sure what would be needed to prepare the biopsy material to do this or where you would find a pathologist who knew what to look for.

Another possibility is that you are experiencing a buildup of lactic acid in your tissues which can cause severe muscle cramping.
It is caused by a lack of oxygen. I think babesia is aerobic which means it uses your oxygen to survive. I used to get this a lot.
I would consider this,

Nope, it's not lactic acid. I went through extensive testing. My legs tighten before I even get to any point of physical exhaustion.

Tighten up? Does this mean cramps? If so, maybe you need to be taking more magnesium.
