I have pain and swelling in or around my blood vessels. I also cannot take treatment with lyme any further without going on contraceptives.
I have had problems with blood flow to feet and muscle cramps, but my llmd and obgyn are convinced this is not an issue, because my INR, D-Dimer doppler studies show no DVT's or hypercoagulation. PTT does show fast coagulatioin time. I have had episodes of pain and swelling in the veins and pain through my chest, which stops me in my tracks.
He is a great llmd. I am not sure about the reluctance to take notice of this.
My guess is this is inflammation of the veins or just some sort of sludge in the blood. I am wondering if I could start any of these without tests and which one would be good?

I have blasted Lyme for 4 yrs. now. Some antibiotics, a lot of rifing.
I have your symptoms now with a flare up bigger than in all the 7 yrs. I've had this disease.
I theorize it is Bart.
I am currently on Rifampin and Heparin.
I haven't been on Rifampin for long so don't know what to tell you.
I started feeling much better after I started the Heparin which I have been on multiple times.
I have taken enzymes without much improvement.
But I too would like to find one myself that is 1) affordable 2) effective 3)easy on the G.I. tract.

I am concerned about this and I just want to survive the contraception. I think I have a real shot if I can handle the hormones to take away the menstruation.
If anyone else has other advice on these please reply.

I am confused.... why would you want to take these contraceptives when they potentially increase blood clotting? They have warnings about increased risk of blood clotting with many oral contraceptives, patches, rings, injections, etc.
If your D-dimer and tests for hypercoagulation are normal, it is unlikely you have clotting issues. However, vasculitis does happen with Lyme and co's. Inflammation of the veins can cause pain, phlebitis.
I assume they have checked your sed rate, CRP, and other inflammatory markers?
Do you take aspirin, heparin, motrin, enzymes, or others that can help with clotting issues?
Do you have babesia? THis can cause clotting issues and feelings of air hunger in the chest.

i found out my issue with systemic vasculitis was rocky mountain spotted fever, gets into cells that line all vessels (endothelial cells)
look into oral contraceptives though,,lyme causes issues with pituitary axis and can make hormones out of whack
i started using bio-identical hormone replacment and has helped me with my issues however hubby had vascetomy so that issue is off the table
i would encourage you to research this with vascular problems as oral bith control would increase clotting risk
