I have been on Clindamycin the last 6 days and it's been pretty tough. Today I've felt pretty lightheaded and am sweating badly. I feel like I have such a fever, but I don't. My body feels like it's on fire.
I only have 4 days of Clindamycin left (300 mg 3x daily). I was Rxed it by my ID doc for elevated ASO titers (strep).
I am drinking tons of water, just started putting fresh lemon juice in hot water, etc.
I have some Nature's Way activated charcoal capsules. How many would be appropriate to take? I don't have a biotensor so no relying on that. I also don't have bags of decaf coffee for other purposes.
I feel like I need to do something. My head is congested and I can't think stright. I even feel a bit nauseated, but not throwing up. Just lots of cold sweats.
I've been doubling up probiotics. I've been off my Malarone for 7 days now...maybe not such a good idea??? Maybe Babesia is slapping me in the face again?
Life is fun.....yep, doctors say nothing is wrong with me. Sure....

I'm not on the same medications as you, but when you talk about feeling like your body is on fire but yet you aren't running a fever, I'm definitely in that camp.
My LLMD saw this, along with other things as a sign of babesiosis. I know I treated babs for 7 months in the past, but must not have gotten it all, so back on treatment yet again, so it MIGHT be that it's still trying to rear it's ugly head back.
I am NOT a doctor and only talking from my own personal experience, but thought I would throw that out there.
I haven't used activated charcoal, but my doctor has me taking Chitosan which would be trying to do something similar.
Good luck and feel better.

I take 5 260mg tablets during the night. That was determined for me by my herbalist who uses muscle testing.
I take it during the night - far away from other supplements or medications, also away from food.
Be careful of constipation as it causes constipation in some people.
You might try doing a search here for dosage. Also do a search on the cpnhelp.org site as I know there are people there who use it.
If you want to know about other methods of detox search here in the archives. There have been many discussions on detox.
There are many types of detox and they are very different. Intracellular (drainage remedies), binders for biotoxins and metals, supplements to help the liver work, lymph drainage supplements and treatments such as red root tincture, skin brushing, exercise. FIR sauna to mobilize and remove toxins from the fat layer and elsewhere.
That is not a comprehensive list. Detox is a huge subject and well worth looking into for those who have severe herx reactions to treatment.
Hope you feel better soon.

I take my last dose of Clindamycin and Malarone at 10-11 PM. Abx are taken at 10 AM, 5 PM, 10 PM. Probiotics at 7:30 AM. Other supplements & meds are taken too, but mostly. at the same time as my meds.
What would be the best time (when awake) to take Charcoal? I may start with 2 capsules when I feel I need it and go from there.
I'm guessing there is no good time when you take Abx at night.

I've heard recommendations of 2 hours on either side of meds and supplements. Not sure about how long you need to wait for food.
"Do not take charcoal with any other medicine. Take your dose of charcoal at least 2 hours before or 1 hour after a dose of any other medicine. Charcoal binds to other drugs and reduces their effectiveness, which could become dangerous."
You may want to search around for other recommendations.
