Do these work better than the regular tent steam saunas? I noticed national pool wholesale website has the FIR tent saunas.

Any info on the FIR vs regular tent steam sauna would be great. TIA

What's the best price I could find for a reasonable decent infared sauna? Any recommendations? Are they dangerous for specific individuals?

Good overall info at www.sunlightsaunas.com

They are the best - do not choke on the price.

Am posting this so you can get more info. I am extremely impressed with what far infrareds can do.

I agree with Mojo and based on her advice, or rather her rave reviews on the FIR tent saunas, I went ahead and bought one.

Let me tell you what I have noticed after only one week of 20-25 minute sessions. My skin is softer and healthier looking.

I have good facial color, my joints do not feel as stiff, as a matter of fact when I am in the sauna, I am able to stretch my neck and shoulders far beyond what I would be capable of if not for the FIR heat.

Seek, there are many studies on FIR saunas. Several major heart centers have done studies on their cardiac and congestive heart patients. Most were much improved after infrared sauna . With no strain on their heart.

Unlike the strain caused by traditional steam saunas. It also has the capacity to pull toxins out through the fat layer of the skin.

I love mine!!!!!

150 includes delivery on e-bay. Take a look. Seek if you are tall and burly, you may want to get the larger model.

Best investment that I have made so far as an adjunct to Lyme treatment.

All thanks to Mojo!

Fit: Thanks for the kind words. I am a true sauna freak. It really makes me feel better. And I have the cheapest of the cheap model.

This is without question the best purchase I ever made.

Seek - They go for many different prices on ebay - I paid $180, I think, with delivery. I've seen them as low as $149 these days.

Start slow, though.

Wow, you've quickly talked me into these. I am completely unable to exercise anymore to the point I break a sweat. In fact, I can barely do much at all. I think this may be a great thing for me. Do you need to use the chair these portable FIR units come with or can you use a different one if you desire? it's kind of hard to grasp how they operate.

Feelfit, how long did it take to see improvement?

Mojo, when you say slow, how do you define that in terms of treatment length and temperature used? How many times per week?

My LLMD recommends them too but just be careful about toxic glues and chemicals used in them. For example, Sunlight Saunas is one of the worst offenders!

We've had one from national pool for several years.

My daughter loves it. She would like the reclining model for days when her back hurts too much to sit in a chair.

Well, the first time I used it, I went in for 15 minutes. This is only because of my anxiety over my headaches and I *thought* that it might get worse.

It didn't. It felt awesome to sweat! I have been unable to exercise too...so this just felt great!

Next time in I went 20 minutes, Next 20 again. Then 25 for a couple days. I will go up to 30 and stay there for awhile.

I set my temp at 150 the warmest it has read is 142. I check my blod pressure and heart rate afterwards and all is very good.

What kind of chair are you wanting to put in? The chair that comes with it are pretty small, but I am not at all uncomfortable. I watch the news while inside, and that can make me feel uncomfortable!

any more Q's feel free to ask.

My husband also uses the infrared sauna from National Pool Wholesalers. He was very resistant to using it at first, but now he really depends on it to detox. It's a great choice if you have limited budget and space. When you compare how much it would cost to go have treatments elsewhere, it actually pays for itself quickly, and is very convenient.

His LLMD suggests setting the temperature at about 110 (which is the lowest setting on this model), and staying in 10-15 minutes after starting to sweat. Even at this "low" temperature, he sweats quite a bit.

Good luck with the decision!
