I just ordered a far infrared sauna. My understanding is that cedar is not good as it off gases something that is toxic. Hemlock or fir is what I have found a lot of them made of which is supposed to be better.
No toxic glues either.
The heaters in mine are ceramic and you have a choice of carbon. Not sure what the difference is.
I am detoxing heavy metals after getting my amalgams removed. Far infrared is supposed to be a gentle way of sweating them out rather than adding more burden to the liver and kidneys.
I prefer the single lie down one. Very portable.

heavenly heat is the best in my opinion. It used by many in the autisim community because there are NO toxins at all. There are many variations. here is a link:

I'm hoping to get a far infra red sauna this week. My LLMD recomended Saunatec. They make both hemlock and cedar. Does anyone have any experience with them?
