I must be dumb or am missing something. Vitacost is selling a product called FlavenZym that they equate to Wobenzyme. See link below:

http://www.vitacost.com/NSI-FlavenZym-The-Ultimate-Systemic-Enzyme-Formula-90-Enteric-Coated-Tablets

Also, I currently take a digestive enzyme from Vitacost called NSI pacreatin 10x. See link below:

http://www.vitacost.com/NSI-Pancreatin-10X-Mega-Digestive-Enzymes

Vitacost says these two products differ in that FlavenZym treats the entire body and not just digestive health. The ingredients look identical almost! Has anyone tried FlavenZym? Do you understand how these two NSI productrs differ? Is this product as effective as Wobenzyme?

Two kinds of enzymes I take are digestive enzymes and proteolytic enzymes. I don't know about the product you mentioned.

Digestive enzymes help you break down your food t assimilate it better. You take them with food.

Proteolytic enzymes break down proteins in your system, like microorganisms such as candida, and probably lyme cysts. They also break down the fibrin in your blood that lyme builds up to hide in. You take these on an empty stomach.

My doctor had me doing exactly as bejoy outlines.

I took Vitlzym away from meals and Similase with meals.

Today, my doctor has me just taking with meals.

Do either of you feel the systematic enzymes did much? Is New Chapter Zyflammend an acceptable substitute for Flavenzyme?

Seek,

Not noticeable help but I do believe the doctor knows best.

The doctor who had me on vitalzym and simalase is the doctor who literally saved my life. These enzymes were just part of the package of building my body up. It isn't like prescription drugs where you get an immediate and obvious impact.

Zyflamend, InFlaMend, Quercitin, Tumeric, Tramameel.....all good for inflammation made no noticeable improvement for me.

But then, neither did Percoset, Vicodan or Ultram.

Detox diet (lots of veggies), IV's of glutathione helped me best. Vit C in high doses as well as magnesium and CoQ10 all help with inflammation.

Today, I have very little inflammation which is saying a lot for someone with rheumatoid arthritis. However, whenever we go after the bugs I have in me, I do flare.

Antibiotically, I take low dose doxycycline for mycoplasmas. I have had an incredibly high level of M. Pneumoniae which is steadily coming down.

So far, my babesia remains high although I am asymptomatic.

Just uncovered parvovirus and HHV-6. Have known I have EBV for a long time. So viral infections are plaguing me as well as bacterial and parasites.

Recently, after 4 mths of herbal parasite protocol, I have passed 4 very big worms. The first pair were sent to the lab for analysis. I don't yet have those results.

Many things are causing my illness which simply means I have many opportunities to get well.

It also means that all that I do is working very well to keep me as painfree as I am. Hooray!! It took about 6 mths to get my pain under control and for the last 1 1/2 yrs, I have been mostly painfree, excluding some flares. Nothing ever bad enough to require pain medication.

I do take herbal anti-inflammatories on a daily basis.

I get ProSol protease proteolytics from:

http://www.enzymesinc.com/prosol/protease-plus.html

You may have to get a practitioner to order these for you.

luvs,

How do you know you are asymptomatic for babesia? Do you have fatigue? (that is the symptom i'm wondering about)

My blood shows active babesia, but I wonder on an average day if my horrendous fatigue is due to babesia or something different?

Seek, sorry to hijack your thread!!!!! If this is rude, I'll delete it.

Oh and seek,

I hesitate to report this, because I have no clue if it is true or not...

but I have heard some people say with these enzymes that if you take them with meals (like if you take Wobenzym with a meal), it will act as a digestive enzyme, but if you take the enzymes on an empty stomach, they will maybe go systemic....even perhaps those intended as digestive enzymes.

That said, in my own logic, I go under the assumption that for systemic purposes, I am better off taking the ones labelled for that use, but who knows, maybe digestive ones would also do an adequate job if taken on empty stomach? Just speculation.

I currently take Wobenzym, but am looking in to other products. I'm not sure if Lumbrokinase is in Wobenzym or not, but that is specifically what I am looking in to ordering. I figure I might as well try lots of different brands to see if my body really likes one over another, though I will say I have responded favorably to Wobenzym in the past.

Seek, the ingredients do look quite similar, but not exact to Wobenzym. No idea if the ingredient difference(s) have any relative significance or not.

However, please also note, if I am understanding it correctly, the pricing on the Flavenzym is about $9 for 90 tablets. The Wobenzym price is for 800 tablets for about $90.

Both versions are a serving size of 3 tablets. So the Flavenzym has only 30 servings. The Wobenzym is over is about 266 servings.

I googled Wobenzym and VitaCost has it for about $90, so do other websites. In fact I think I saw where NexStep Nutrtion might be having a free shipping promotion (?) I have never ordered through NexStep so can't vouch for them. I have ordered through VitaCost (as have many others) and had no problems.

Hoozier

Somehow, this go round (3 yrs now) I have dodged the fatigue bullet. Thank God! I had it in 1995 and I know how crushing it can be.

I was rebit May 07 and did experience crushing fatigue. The doctor found me in an acute phase of mono. She started me on ammoxycillan and biaxin for H. Pylori and within 30 days I was good as new.

It was also at this time that Babesia ducani was discovered. She has been focused in on Babesia ever since. So far, I have not exhibited any of the classic symptoms, but we also aren't having much luck getting rid of it. I keep testing positive.
