My son used to get this all the time when he was younger.

Here is what I think is what you are describing:
http://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/cheilosis

It attributes it to a Vit B deficiency, especially Riboflavin and B12

My Lyme doc said it is a common symptom of Lyme.

If you do a search on Cheilosis, you will see how it is treated. Some articles suggested that oral Candida can be the cause or can result in this. So an anti-fungal may help.

I would ask your doc next time you see them.

Best,
Karen

Is it like very deep laugh or smile lines? Mine have gotten much worse since I started treatment (1 year), and I also have them around my eyes and upper lip. The side of my face that I sleep on is the worst. In December I decided to take a break from antibiotics and most other supplements and it seemed my face aged 20 years in 1 month! Now that I am back on some supplements I am seeing improvement.

It can also be attributed to Bartonella. See the Bartonella thread here on the first page.

It was also one of the first manifestations of Bart for my son and I prior to developing the other skin manifestations of Bart.

I swear these lines on my face started after I began minocycline. I have one on either side of my mouth and more around my eyes. I bought anti wrinkle cream and satin pillowcases to try to get rid of them. [Smile] I didn't have any wrinkles before but now my face is full of them. And I'm only 37!

Sorry I can't help. Just wanted you to know you're not alone.

Thanks for all your input! Karen, I will definately check out the link, and I pray it's

not bart but am gonna check with m doc. The first time I noticed it was before I knew I was

sick with lyme and was moving into an old house that had just had all the carpets torn out.

Besides the strange heavy creases on face I got a rash and soon after vertigo. Looking back I

think mold or whatever disgusting bacteria that was stirred up caused an extreme reaction. My

face did get better after that but never quite the same. Lately it is getting worse, this sucks on so many levels!!!
