What is the deal with this? I have been doing some research online and there isn't much scientific evidence proving that this is helpful. So, why do we do it? I know the salt makes you sweat... but I don't really get the point of all of this. Can someone explain this to me?
Also, I read that you are supposed to shower after soaking in the tub. That makes sense but do you do that?
Thanks.

Abxnomore is right. The baths are for detoxing and to relax muscles and joints that ache.
The shower afterwards is to rinse off the toxins so they don't soak right back into your skin, because with your skin sweaty and your pores open, the skin will just suck the toxins back up.
Plus, the salt left on you will itch you to death!!
