Hello and thank you for reading this.
I got my Igenex test results as well as the standard Quest diagnostics results.

My Quest Diagnostics for Lyme disease antibody EIA with reflex to western blot was 0.25 NEGATTIVE.

My Igenex test bands results were:
23-25 Positive
41 Indetermined

My LLMD thinks I do have Lyme and is starting me on treatment ABX treatment.

I read in the "Lyme solution book" that Dr. Singleton sais in the book that he likes to see 41 Positive and mine is Indetermined. I know Lyme is ultimately a clinical diagnosis but wanted to get some of you more experienced lymers to maybe give me your opinion on these results ...

I just don't want to treat something that it's not. I will try the ABX anyways for months to come as I exhausted other avenues for my sickness but just wanted to get your 2 cents.

Thanks again for reading this,

Sean.

Well, not a lot of bands (but neither did I), but 23-25 is the outer surface protein C (OspC), specific for Bb (lyme disease). So I would say it looks like lyme (especially if your LLMD believes so).

A band showing an Indeterminate usually just means a very low positive... if that makes sense.

I am glad you are seeing an LLMD. That is all that matters right now. Seeing an LLMD willing to treat. [Smile]

Sean,

I trust your LLMD's opinion. Remember he has treated many others who had similar presentations. His experience - and his advanced education in this field - is all at work here, too.

If he has taken your history, assessed your symptoms, considered the test and come to the conclusion that it is likely lyme, I think you are in good hands.

I am glad to hear that you have read Singleton's book. That is a wonderful tool as you move forward.

This might help some in understanding the tests:

If you are symptomatic, and have band 23-25,

Then I would agree with your LLMD.

Don't count on Quest to find anything.

Lucky they found band 23 IgM for me.

That and 54/75 symptoms got me diagnosed with Lyme by a duck.

Then my LLMD seconded the diagnosis.

Hugs,

Geneal
