I am supposed to add Tindamax to a regime that includes Rifampin, bicillin injections, and probenecid.

The fine print on Tindamax says to alert Dr if taking Rifampin.

Nurse was to look into possible contraindications between Rifampin and Tindamax before RX, but then sent in the RX anyway.

Am I being paranoid about possible Rifiampin/Tindamax trouble?

Can't get an answer out of llmd voice mail.

Always raise a question where one must be.

Push your point. People are human...and we do make mistakes.

Personally...I don't see the benefit of Rif with Tinny

Local Man, did you ever pursue this warning about Rifampin/Tindamax in combination?

I've just added Tindamax to Rifampin and Zithromax, so any info would be very welcome,

Carry

My LLMD just started me on Rifampin and had me stop the tindamax due to interaction. To be safe I would call your LLMD to make sure.

I was later told by LLMD that there was not a problem with this "at the molecular level"...have others heard otherwise?

I'm taking both aswell. Maybe its something to do with Rifampin speeding up the metabolism of other medications.

Just a warning about Rifampn. My daughter almost died two weeks ago after being treated with this med while in the hospital for an infected elbow replacement. She was first treated for bart two years with this abx and got very sick right away. She then discontinued the med. This time a doctor treated her with Rifampin again, even though she told him about her past experience. She was vomiting right away, and the she started itching and had a rash. Her BP dropped to 40/30, she couldn't breathor see or hear. Many other symptoms also. Please be careful. Susan
