I just noticed I have a grape sized lump in my arm where my PICC was removed last week, due to a blood clot. It isn't exactly where the line was but under the bruise where one of the stitches was that held the line in place.

i got this once after an iv too. it was huge, all black and purple. very noticeable.
it took weeks for the swelling to go down.
the doc said they damaged the tissue and it would eventually go away.
he recommended vitamin k every day and it seemed to help a lot.

I called the IV nurse, she said it is just from the trauma. She said if it was related to the blood clot my arm and hand would be all swollen.
I don't have a PICC line right now, I just have a heplock. My LLD is definitely not happy about that. She wants me to get another PICC ASAP. She faxed a bunch of stuff to the hematologist today so they will get me in and get me worked up much more quickly.

Glad to hear it's nothing serious. Sorry you have it at all though.
Hope you get the PICC in again quickly and painlessly.

I had a knot in my arm from IV rocephin (6 weeks)at the injection site. It eventually dissolved.
For a couple years after that they couldn't get a needle into that nice looking vein because it would move or be to knotty.
