Well, I am six months into treatment, and am functioning at about 80%. I recently hit a plateau after treating lyme and babesia.

I started a new protocol: Omnicef 900mg a day, Cipro 500mg twice a day, and malarone twice a day. I also take BLT tincture which is specifically for bartonella.

I have been on cipro for about two weeks, and I added in omnicef this past friday. I have not started malarone just yet, since I wanted to add everything in slowly.

Yesterday, I was in class when I all the sudden felt like I was going to pass out! My hearing went out and I started sweating and getting dizzy.

It was really hot in the room, so I took a walk to get fresh air and get my blood flowing since there was no place to lie down.

Well, my next classroom was not hot, and I felt like I was going to pass out again. This time, I could also feel my heart racing. (I forgot to mention that I did eat breakfast and lunch).

The rest of the day, I just felt like crap. I went to bed around 9, and woke up at midnight and it felt like cold water was being poured into my veins.

I started feeling feverish, and then started feeling hot and cold and sweaty. I took my temp, and it was completely normal. I also felt very nauseous.

Any ideas what is going on? Anyone have any similar reactions while on any of the meds im on?

yes it sounds like bart...if you reduced babesia that holds up BART than BART is raising its ugly head and it feels exactly as you described...been there many times and have been to ER as I would pass out and is really scary ....

Cipro is hitting it and is fighting you back ..( there are many other coinfections that can get treated with quinolones) so do not be suprised if you are hitting somthing else...Look for brucella also as it is usully with bart....

I'm on different meds, but having some of those same symptoms. I was dragging this afternoon. For a while felt chilly, then feverish, but my temp was normal. And lots of nausea, but I'm pretty sure that's from my abx.

I had a rough night last week where I felt really horrible, had a bad case of the chills, then felt hot, and the feedback I got here all pointed to the bart. That was the 2-week mark of starting this new round of abx., which sounds similar to your situation.

So I think it's still Bart, but I'm also being treated for babs, so I can't be sure.

Hope you feel better soon.

Julie
