Also, is irritability/anxiety feeling (not emotion, but physical feeling of anxiety--more of a "ramped up" feeling like too much coffee) only a symptom of bart, ir is it also related to lyme?
Thank you!

I don't believe so. The community and doctors say "no" as a whole -- including LLMD's.
-------------------- I am not a physician, so do your own research to confirm any ideas given and then speak with a health care provider you trust.
So can the internal restlessness be Lyme only, or would Bart most likely be involved?
I treated bart for 3 months with Rifampin/Zith, and thought I was good (not sure I have Bart to begin with... never tested for it, just treated based on sx) but now have internal restlessness feelings again that drive me crazy.
Wondering if it's just lyme (still), or Bart (again)? Or not sure if it's just because I've started excercising again and that's causing my nerves to be jumpy.

Thanks Beth. Did you test positive for bart, or does your LLMD treat based on symptoms, like mine?

My doctor thinks my problems with this are from bart as well. I did not test positive for it, but we are going after it now with mycobutin/zith/omnicef.
I was on rifampin/zith/doxy for almost five months with only a little progress.
It is a truly awful feeling. I know another lymie who has it and is only being treated for lyme.

That is a classic bartonella symptom.
I'm not sure you're treatment was long enough. My LLMD said he's finding bart/BLO takes a lot longer to get rid of, and is possibly tougher to kill, than Lyme. Sigh.

According to what I've read, Levaquin and the other fluoriquinolones an actually induce some changes in gene expression that make Bb more pathogenic (think I read that it's via bacteriophage activation.)
The drugs in the family can cause neuropsychiatric symptoms, however, without acting on any pathogen at all. You should really be on the lookout for ADR's while taking one of them, IMO, and go off if you think there's any chance you could be experiencing one.
