So, if you take supplements, you might want to check your label to see if it contains the banned form of Vitamin B6.

As the second link above says: "FDA approvals and bans have nothing to do with science and everything to do with protecting drug companies profits."

====

PCP is VERY safe.

This ban is NOT about safety. It is about keeping the consumer from buying what works best and making the pharmaceutical industry richer.

P5P is an excellent choice as a precursor to B-6. It helps me keep seizures down, not as a drug but as a nutrient. I can't take anti-seizure drugs because of their harsh side effects.

It is a splendid help. I just got a new bottle last week at my naturopathic doctor's appointment.

I wouldn't be surprised if the FDA soon starts banning broccoli in favor of processed foods.

My bottle of B-complex vitamins says it contains pyridoxine HCl. Is this now banned?

I can't seem to find this ban on the FDA website.

Does it ever end?

When are the agencies that "we" pay for actually going to do something that helps us, the citizens as opposed to the drug cartels (ie: big pharma)?

Is pharma the "law?" If this statement from one of the releases is any where close to being true, that would seem to be the sad case.

"Responding to a petition filed by a drug company, the FDA declared pyridoxamine to be "a new drug."

This might continue as a trend if profits are decreasing.

Sharing experiences on LN can be a two-edged sword unfortunately... we may find our most effective supplements/tools on the endangered list. There may also be a backlash against alternative practitioners.

Unfortunately, there are no easy answers.

It might be HELPFUL if the pharmaceutical industries could incorporate or integrate into these ever-expanding new fields of medicine/supplements, because they hold so much promise. And still so much yet to be tapped into. Infectious diseases are not decreasing any time soon. Some of the more far-sighted ones have purchased supplement companies.

My husband tells me that some oil companies are buying alternative energy companies/technologies, which seems so very logical.
