Hi everyone,

Since I have been on Babesia treatment, I have been coughing and it always increases when I am herxing. My LLMD tried telling me that Babesia does not cause coughing. I have talked to several other people who have coughing as well.

I have seen coughing listed as a symptom of Babs as well. So is my coughing due to Babesia?

Thank you!

I would say yes. My 4 year old son developed a dry cough with babesia for several months. It has gone away with treatment.

Just curious, who is your LLMD?

I cough incessantly. My first Lyme M.D. said it was from babesia. I have another now because I moved. I was good for 4 years and started with the cough again. This LMD says babesia also. I test positive again for BAbs and Lyme. My throat also gets inflamed and feels like it's burnt from eating pizza too hot. For me the cough is always the last to go. God Bless Theresa

Although coughing hasn't been my worst symptom while treating babesia, I do know I have developed a dry cough that will come and go.

I had looked up the "symptoms" for babesia and noticed that on the list, they even have coughing as one of the symptoms.

Granted, a cough could be caused by ANYTHING, but it seems odd that a LLMD would have never had other patients have that happen as well.

I would definitely point a finger at the babs if you are even on treatment for it, but hey, I'm not a doctor. Just a patient that has dealt with it too.

Hi Blue

I am curious who your LLMD is as well. Sounds like we could have one in the same?

Thanks
