Would you please pm me about your childs symptoms, Babs tests and babs therapy with respect to weight and other meds.
My son is around 50 lbs, his questionable symptoms are possible Babs rash, wet cough with congestion, and funky eyes. Says their marbles or worms in his eye.
He's on Zith and Bactrim per Doc J for Bart.
I want to have a greater understanding before I approach Doc J with my suspicions. He had a positive Babs antibody at 2 years old. Never treated. Doc J felt he might fight it off.
Thanks Much for any help-

Hi,
Sorry, I can't help you with this but I am looking for the same info. I have a newborn and my babs came back with a vengance at the end of the pregnancy. I want to know how to test him. Fry labs, maybe?
Also, what lab did you use for bart testing on your son?

Dr. J uses Clongen Lab, from what I've heard.

Hi Blinkie,
He does use Clongen now, but I'm not sure if that's in place of MDL and/ or Igenex.
You'd think I know, as I just had bloodwork done two months ago, but I just take my big pen and sign where they tell me to...
Up for anyone else that paid more attention to this at their last visit-
Also, awaiting any responses to initial post
Thanks, 2roads

2roads,
I used Clongen for lyme tests on the baby but we did not do the bart or babs tests. My LLMD thought the immune system could handle those infections but I disagree.
They still have our samples if we want to do that but actually, I might just see if we can get a blood draw a little down the road for accuracy sake.

I would consult Dr. Jones in New Haven, Conn.
I don't know about immunity for fighting TBI Bart, I think that should be treated.
I'm still questioning the immunity and babs.
I sure would appreciate if some parents could come on here and assist with my original post, though.

Yes, my 13 year old is being treated by Dr. Jones for Babesia. He is on Mepron and Zithromax, also minocycline for Lyme.
His treatment was based on the fact that one week AFTER his appt with Dr. Jones he had an engorged tick attached to his head. We sent it out to be tested and it tested positive for Babs, so Dr. Jones has been treating Cody for it.
Prior to that, he only tested positive for Lyme. He used both Clongen and IGENEX. He was CDC positive for Lyme. Babs was negative at the time but then with the tick, which we think was attached for several days, he added the Babs treatment.

I should add that we only took Cody to Dr. Jones as a precaution to have him tested for congenital Lyme, and he was CDC positive.

Thanks Tracy.
Sounds crazy to say, but atleast you had a positive on Babs you didn't question treating.
I'm glad we have Doc J-
Best to you and yours,
Greta
