I'll try to keep this short. I was diagnosed in 1999 with late-stage Lyme Disease, Ehrlichiosis, and Babesia.
I went on 6 weeks of IV Rocephin followed by about 6 weeks of oral antibiotics. Insurance wouldn't pay for more abx so I went to a Naturopath for a few months.
I was never the same afterwards. In April 2008 I got sick again with dizziness, joint pain, fatigue, headaches, foggy thinking, etc.
I justed tested negative for Lyme, Ehrlichiosis, Bartonella, and Babesia from Focus in CA. A LLMD has me on Zithromax and Plaquenil but my stomach/digestive tract can't handle it.
I'm not sure that this is Lyme? Advice?

Hi Lisa,
I'm not sure what Focus is in CA? Most of us are tested from Igenex in CA. It's the most reliable lab for Lyme (but not co infections from what I read).
It sure sounds like Lyme and if you had a positive test before, then you are probably relapsing! I too got better after being really sick, but was never the same person after.
If your LLMD does think it is Lyme, and you aren't able to physically tolerate the meds, s/he SHOULD switch you to IV if you can afford it.
