Hello all,
I have been taking Minocycline 100mg TID for a little over 3 weeks now along with Tindamax 500mg TID.
Its been shaky going, and unfortunately, I have had to back off a few times already.
Yesterday something new popped up and I am wondering if this newest symptom is actually one from a side effect of the meds or just part of herxing.
The timing points to a herx, but thought I would ask anyway...
Sooo, yesterday, my mouth became very sore to the point of aching. After a few hours, I could feel specific places on the roof of my mouth that felt swollen and tender.
My glands also were swollen along with all the regular symptom list.
Today, those tender spots are now open sores, and I am having a difficult time eating anything due to the pain.
So, the question is...have any of you experienced this or even heard of this with Tindamax or Minocycline?
I've tried drug searches and can't seem to locate any answers on this specific issue.
Thanks so much in advance, Melanie

Hi Mrs. Melanie.
I just did a search on Tindamax and mouth sores and Wow!!!!
Tindamax can cause mouth sores in the mouth, lips, etc.
Ulcers too.
May want to call your LLMD or pharmacist to check.
Try some warm salt water and swish in your mouth.
So sorry. It sounds so very painful.
Sending you prayers and positive thoughts.
Hugs,
Geneal

All I did was check the med info...I cant believe I didn't even think to Google that combo! (Must be the head stuff.)
Thank you so much. Hope you are doing GREAT!

Your mouth sounds terrible. I am so sorry to hear this.
The only experience remotely close to yours is that the corners of my mouth crack and bleed on these drugs.
I dont know if this will help or make it worse, but maybe swishing your mouth with very dilute peroxide and water?
Sucking on ice chips?
I truely wish you well.

Aw, thank you ticked!
I thought perhaps broth, but that stings. Then I thought yogurt, but that was too cold. Luke warm tea seams to be doing the trick.
Now that I have searched deeper, thanks Miss G, I see that Mino can cause this too. Goodness, guess I'll have to call the doc if this isn't healed by Monday.
Alright, I'm finished complaining.
Thank you both so much, M

Good news is Mrs. Melanie,
That your mouth will heal quicker than any other part of your body.
Hope you get back to kissing real soon.

That's not fair! Sorry you are in pain.
Maybe you can try not real cold milk shakes?
I think chocolate ones are going to be the cure in this case.

HEY... HEY...
That was suppose to be a NICE happy face and mouth... just for you!
But I guess you're right.
It does look like it will gum us all to death, doesn't it?
