We know the answer Feelfit. Nothing too I think. 500 mg did nothing for me.
Probably many here have normal chem profiles. Your CD-57 is better than many, but co-infections may be the issue.

My LLMD is starting me on the same dose of zithromax and also doxy (dose is 300mg daily) He likes this combo. they enhance each other.
I questioned the dose of zithromax as I felt it was low and he told me it was okay because I weigh under 110lbs. Over 110lbs should get the 500mg dose.
For what it's worth, that's what he believes.

I am on Zithromax 250 mg twice a day, plaquenil 200 mg twice a day, and doxycycline 200 mg twice a day. I just started this 3 weeks ago.

Well I'm not an LLMD so I can't really say.. plus everyone is different. But I have been on monotherapy for almost a year now and I'm probably 80% better than where I was last year. But if you have not been getting any better over the course of your treatment... maybe you need to discuss other options.

Derat: That's a decent combination.

Maybe pulsing the dose is worth a try? Some say the max bug killing occurs as your circulating dose level is declining. With pulsing, I herx a ton on what is just net 5% of the dose you are taking.

I have started improving on mostly mono therapy. I started on 500 mg zith and flagyl, then went to 250mg of zith by itself for 3 months, then another antibioitc, then Malarone, now different antibiotic. After 8 months I started feeling much better. My pain is about 70% better, the fatigue is hanging in, but not as bad as it was. Neuro symptoms are improving.
Listen to what you doctor says. My doc does not treat aggressively either and cures many people this way.
I feel that it is not neccessary to treat with gallons of meds at once. In my opinion it hampers the immune system. With lower doses, your immune system is allowed to do it's job. Please don't jump on me. It's only an opinion.
It just seems to me that some treat aggressively and some treat conservatively and the ones treating aggressively don't get well any quicker than the conservative treaters. In many cases I have observed that it actually takes them longer to get well.

My doctor gave me 500 mg Zith , 2x/day, ie, 1000 per day, coupled with Mepron. Excellent drugs! They worked very well, knocked out almost all babesia symptoms. I had no trouble with them.
