My doctor ordered Nebulized Glutathione for me from Wellness Pharmacy in Alabama. Shipment arrived yesterday.
Questions:
1. RX says administer 1 mg daily as directed by doctor. Problem is doctor has not told me how to use this. The RX was called in, not given directly to me. The doctor's office is nearly impossible to contact. Printed brochure not very helpful. Any tips on using it??
2. It says check the Inspiration #626 nebulizer filter weekly and change regularly. However, no additional filters were included. How often are others finding you need to change the filter??
3. Anyone have any tips or cautions I should be aware of about this? For example, how long does it take to administer 1 mg? Do you breathe in through your mouth or nose with this thing?? The plastic piece looks like a mouth piece, not nose??
Wish someone from my doctor's office would have told me what to expect and how to do this thing. Appreciate any help that y'all might have to offer.
For those who have done this, apprx how long until you noticed a difference, if at all?
Any side effects I should know about?
Thanks very much for any help:)

jam, I just posted info on another site... but not on the nebulizer.
I've not heard wonderful things about using it that way.

Hey Jam, I nebulized for a long time and found it helpful. Had same LLMD so sort figured stuff out on my own: 1) no need for tips really, just tip the vial into the cup, turn on your nebulizer, put on your mask, and inhale! 2) I was a bad girl about changing stuff out. I replaced the tubes monthly and rinsed out the cup and mask with hot water every time I used it, but other than that, didn't worry about it. Oh, and let it air dry. 3) You breathe in through your mouth, not your nose. 4) when it was working (I had diminishing returns which I hear is common) I noticed a difference right away!
I'm taking a break and may go back to it later.

hi CD57, thanks so much for the help. Guess I'll try to give it whiff tomorrow and see how I do. Hmmm, I don't remember seeing a mask in it, just a tube with a mouthpiece thingy? My brain is really bad today so I should really recheck this thing out tomorrow.
Didn't sleep well last night at all, and that always messes me up. I try to protect sleep at all costs because of how bad it does me.
Things are so very stressful here for me with the relocation into a hotel room/my crash/ and hubby not adjusting well to any of it. Seems all I have done is cry for 3 days. I am hoping the glut. whiff might give me a badly needed lift.
I think we have to move out of here tomorrow into the motorhome so that will be another major crash and burn for me. I havn't yet recovered from the first move into here last Friday night.
I really need to spend time meditating tomorrow and laying on my infared mat to see if it can help me adjust better. I am not remember my supplements the way I should or eating the way I should. Way too long between meals. Hubby is gone lots during the day working on the house so I get that. He tries to fix my food plates before he leaves but if he gets busy then I am on my own. Guess I should look up to see if Meals on Wheels delivers here. Hubby said he say a trck out from yesterday.
This hotel seems to have lots of low income susbistence pplacement housing. Some clientelle look like they could in now way afford this palce and yet have 3 rooms rented?? The guard to huby it was welfare familys. Not a problem with that, it is just that they are so loud and yelling up and down the halls at after midnight! Must be a new work crew or something as it has been fairly quiet until tonight.

Hey Jam, hope you're feeling a little better today, getting some much needed rest.
Sounds like you got a mouth piece instead of a mask for your nebulizer. If you are not comfortable breathing in with your mouth simply hold the mouth piece in front of your face so that the mist hits your nose and breath in normally.
Most nebs only take about 5-10min. You should sit up during the treatment or at least hold the cup upright. Basically let it run until all the liquid is gone from the cup and or no more mist is produced. As you get towards the end of the treatment it may start sputtering, shake the cup side to side and that will help it run evenly again and finish faster.
Don't worry about changing the filter unless it gets wet or visibly dirty. Rinse out the cup every day, wash the mask and cup with soap at least every couple of days (more often if you are acutely sick). Don't try to wash the tubing, it will never dry. Replace the mask and tubing set as needed, it should cost less than $5.
As for what to expect, Glutathione should help you feel better relatively quickly. My doc said within 1hr. And it smells bad, just a heads up!
How did I do on it? Not so good. Apparently I was allergic to some component of the med. My airway closed up immediately (with first inhalation), had difficulty breathing with chest and throat pain. The pain lasted a couple days and I had a cough for over a week.
I didn't tell you about my experience to scare you. Just be aware. If it doesn't feel right, stop. My doc said that he had never had a patient respond badly to glutatione before. Most people feel much better with the treatments.
Take care:)

I have the same neb from Wellness Pharmacy. I tolerate it very well. If it is too much with the mouthpiece I breathe some seconds through the nose. You might get a little dizzy if the glutathione is new for you. Try to sit in a safe place if you get dizzy. I do it since four weeks, but I see no difference. I now take the neb twice a day and I also swallow acete glutathione. For me the neb is an additional way to get more glutathione in my system. Does anybody know if there is a difference between reduced glutathione or normal glutathione for the nebulizer? Hope it works out well for you. Karen
