Sorry if this question as already asked. I did a search and not much luck finding this exact thing.
Ok so my 2 boys already did the Igenex blood tests. They are now getting the urine test done. The test number is 465 and it says "Urine (pooled from 3 samples)". It's under the list of tests called "Multiplex PCR (B. burgdorferi)" on the Igenex sheet. So I think they are running a PCR on the urine instead of the blood?? Anyone know this answer??
Ok my other question is how to do this test? They don't give you instructions. I might have to call Igenex on Monday but was hoping to get started on it now. Cause I have to collect 3 sample from each of them and send them out with in a few days.
There is a collection cup but it doesn't tell you how full it has to be. There is also a tube in the kit. It doesn't say if I have to put it from the cup to the tube. I also don't know how to package it for mailing. Like the blood test kits come with that styrofoam to put the blood tube in nicely. This doesn't come with any packaging other then the fed ex bag.
I have been trying to figure out exactly how to do this and I don't want to do it wrong since it's expensive. Speaking of that one. I don't have a price sheet. LOL I think she said it was $235?
Ok so I know I will have to call them Monday but if anyone has any experience with this test can you send me some info?
I also want to know what they are looking for in it? Cause I have heard others dicussing doing a urine test after they start abx. Not sure if that is a differnt test then this one? The doctor didn't say to start the abx 1st. So I am just very confused. Trying to get this done so they can start treatment. Also if I call my LLMD they charge me a fee for phone calls. UGH!
Thanks!!

It was my understanding that the pcr urine test is done after being on antibiotics for a while.
Please let me know what you find out. I might be interested in doing this test. Especially if it is only $235. I wonder if insurance will reinburse for this?
Anyone else have any info regarding this?

Thanks! Yeah I am thinking I should wait til Monday and call.
I will just have to maybe wait a few days to start treatments if it is to be done prior to abx. But I don't want to do it wrong!
