Hello all,
For months now, I have been experiencing a vibrating sensation in my head and neck almost exclusively when sleeping. It is very annoying and wakes me up nearly every night. Has anyone else experienced this?

Can anyone suggest a treatment that has been effective for this type of thing?

I really appreciate any input you may have.

Thank you!
Will

Have you tried various kinds of pillows yet?

Is this more in your head or are your ears involved, too?

Are all electronics around you unplugged with your alarm clock all the way across the room? That is best. Nothing electronic near you at all when you sleep. Everything even unplugged.

No TV, no computer in the room is best - or unplugged from wall during sleep.

What is the dose of your evening magnesium ? And during the day?

Are you keeping up with your fish oil?

Mostly .. continued abx. It should go away in time.

Have you tried muscle relaxants?

Keebler...I think the only thing in the room are the lamps on the night stands, a TV (on the other side of the room), a clock, and a humidifier. I take 500 mg of magnesium at night and I do take fish oil daily. I've also been taking Alpha Lipoic Acid and Acetyl L Carnitine.

Lymetoo...my doctor just gave me some samples of Skelaxin to try. Good idea? I don't think it is muscle-related...I think it is nerve related.

Thanks, both of you.

Will

Not much can be done about the nerves, but maybe the Skelaxin will help some....enough for you to keep your sanity.

I don't know if we are discussing the same thing, but before my diagnosis of lyme, I was seeing all the usual specialists to figure out what was wrong.

One was a neurologist and he did an EEG and told me I was having mini seizures that may be causing this vibration I was dealing with...most especially in my neck.

At the time, he prescribed Klonipin for anytime I was feeling that way and to take it five days after the incident.

He obviously had no idea what might be causing any of this.

Since my lyme diagnosis and treating with abx, I have gotten it to totally go away.

Whether the neurologist was right, I'll never know, but my LLMD still feels Klonipin is a helpful medication for many of the symptoms we lyme patients suffer, so I do still have this med for an "as needed".

We may be discussing totally different symptoms, but it is a real vibration that another person could even feel if they touch my neck. It was STRANGE.
