I stumbled across information about the body chemical, kryptopyrroles, on the net. It seems to cause many lyme-like symptoms if in excess. Anyone know anything about it?

Here's one related piece:

What is it, exactly? The link was a little too science-y for me to understand, but I did look at the symptom list a lot of it fits me! I think it's interesting that HealinginSantaCruz mentioned that Dr. K thinks that lyme patients who don't get better have this, and I'm also one of those patients. How is it tested for, and how is it treated? Thank you [Smile]

the disorder is called kryptopyrroluria. It is a stress induced illness (possibly caused by chronic infection or as a result of it).

the body excretes an abnormally high level of kryptopyrrols in the urine which bind to zinc, b6 and manganese and deplete the body of these nutrients.

it causes a lot of problems with detoxification.

supplementation typically will result in increases in symptoms likly caused by the cells dumping toxins/metals into the body.

After 3 to 4 months of supplementation patients are getting better!
