I have been feeling sick on and off for about 2 months now. Symptoms are: easily fatigued, need 8-10 hours of sleep when I used to be able to function on 6, lightheaded, nausea, feel like I am coming down with something, irregular menstrual cycle, mild headache at times, lower legs feel like they are going to give way. Never had bulls-eye rash but did wake up one morning and found about 6 ticks in my bed (we have 2 dogs).
I had 3 Lyme's test. 1st was negative. 2nd was indeterminate but when Western Blot was performed, IgM was positive. 3rd was indeterminate and Western Blot was negative. The 2nd test was ordered by a neurologist and sent to LabCorp. The 3rd test was ordered by an infectious disease doctor and sent to Quest. Infectious disease doctor says I definitely don't have Lyme's and if I take the 1-month dose of Doxocyclin that the neurologist ordered, I am going to have more complications.
Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Ariel1 if you have a positive test of any kind for
Bb it is likely you do have infection. If you
have neg WB for Bb it is possible to still have
Bb. I would get copies of all test results and
look at the WB explanation posted on top of
thread. Or here. Many here can help you determine
bands. I would go ahead and get an appointment
with a LLMD to treat. The latest research says it
can take 3 weeks to develop antibodies the WB
can detect. After that we do not know the window
for detection but the indicator bands are what is
needed. Many doctors will tell you neg. based on
not enough bands. Which is ridiculous. If you
have specific bands it is likely. And I think probable.

I tested negative for Lyme with the Mayo Clinic. But with Lab Corp and Quest Diagnostics tested positive for Lyme IGM.
I never had a bull-eyes rash, but have had the symptoms you are describing. Have been getting better on antibiotics.
I have heard that sometimes taking an antibiotic will actually help the Lyme to show up on future blood tests.
It would be important to find a Lyme Literate MD (LLMD) to also test for other pathogens/organisms (co-infections) that ticks transmit and cause illness.

I tested negative three times, slightly positive once and that's enough for my LLMD to get me started on abx.
The first test I had that was negative was in 2000, in MSP from a neurologist. Just think, if he had done his job correctly and knew anything about Lyme, I could be all better by now, instead of worse.
See an LLMD for evaluation.
