i've heard several people say that this dr. ohhira's probiotic is excellent.
however, after reading up on it, i see it contains the e. faecalis strain, which is the one in threelac.
the australian government has banned threelac because of this particular strain which apparently is bad for you. it can cause antibiotic resistant problems.
so if this probiotic contains that strain, shouldn't it be avoided also?

Do you mean "threelac" or "Theralac"?
I use Theralac, so I would definitely like to know more about this.
dr. ohhira's probiotic made me feel terrible (headaches, cramping, overall felt worse), but that is just one person's experience.
I have used Dr Ohara too and it was so hard on my GI. It was not enough pro-biotics as I got a GI yeast infection from it while taking abx.
I had to take Diflucan for a month too and I was already eating a yeast free diet.
I take Theralac and that product is great! It is different the Threelac. I also take Ultraflora and S. Boulardii too and have no yeast issues now and I am still on abx.

I took it for awhile because all the reviews said it was so great. I didn't notice anything weird from it.
My first energy tester said I was allergic to it, but I wasn't sure what to make of that at the time.
I use Theralac and Healthy Trinity as my mainstay probiotics.

Its very possible to be alergic to this probiotic, because it is totally dependent on the FOS, so if you have a bad yeast issue and are on ABX it makes sense to avoid it. I've had good luck with it, mainly because I'm not taking ABX. Some of the FOS used is probably tempeh which is soy based also possibly making it alergetic in a lowered immune system.

The most recent copy of the Lyme Times stated some people have problems taking Probiotics that contain FOS. The FOS can feed or fuel certain kinds of yeast.
