I haven't seen a doctor yet, but I do take supplements. I have a hard time with the supplements that need to be taken on an empty stomach. I forget half the time until my dinner is on a plate and I'm too hungry to wait. How long after a meal is your stomach empty?

I started treatment in May '08. The supplements have always been difficult for me also. Last November I stopped taking most of them and tried to take only the "all in one" vitamin pack each day.
I got really run down and the fatigue was in full force by Christmas. I started back on the supplements and have noticed a big difference only recently.
Try to split them up. My daughter and I both need to take them and she found little round containers at Walgreens in different colors which fit easily into our purse. Yellow is morning - green is noon and blue or purple is our night dose.
For me, the Vit. C was a problem - I switched to Ester C which advertises it will not upset the stomach.
Zinc can also cause stomach upset. I take this one a night.
There are a couple others famous for upsetting the stomach - maybe someone else knows which ones.
Divide them up and try to pin point which ones are giving you trouble. You might be able to take a lesser dose and work up to the full dose or find a better brand like I did.
As far as costs - bummer huh. Shop the internet but be sure you buy the best quality name brand products. Search "supplements" at this site for more on that. Vitacost has been a very good supplier for me with good prices.
You need to build your immunity and get your strength back. Best wishes for good health, -p

If money is the reason, I understand. As for nausea, I've never found any of the supplements to cause nausea but if one has nausea, it is hard to take anything.
(Oh, if zinc is mixed in with other stuff, it's usually easier on stomach but also, taking food -like supplement with meals helps a lot. Vitamins on an empty stomach can be a horrible thing for the rest of the day.)
If on-going nausea is the case, check out powders to stir into water or rice milk, etc.
I really like both BioGenesis Bio-Cleanse Functional Food and also Green Vibrance by Vibrant Greens.
Both are powders that contain lots of the things we should be taking.

As for " the time to schedule everything" - well, I see this as my primary job. If we have the funds for what we need, they really need to get INTO our body to help us get well. But taking a lot of capsules is hard for me to swallow, so the powders are so nice then.

I should clarify the main cause of my nausea.
Maybe I'm just too sensitive to too many things. Things like taste, consistecy, smell, etc.
For awhile everything made me nauseous. This was while I was on doxy. I am no longer taking that, so that's not the issue.
I take (or am supposed to take) a packet of vitamins daily, sounds like the one you describe, peedie.
I don't take a separate vit C or zinc or mag. All my daily vitamins/minerals are in these packets "foundation nutrients".
There's 7 or 8 capsules and just taking that many is nauseating.
I also have "opti-cleanse", sounds like the bio-cleanse functional food you describe, keebler. It's a powder you mix with water.
The gritty consistency doesn't always go down easily and doesn't always stay down. Sometimes I can't finish it and have to dump the last 1/3 or so because I know it won't go down.
There's also glutathione, 1/2 tsp to be mixed with a beverage (water or juice). Well, this is the most noxious, sulfury stuff. It'll knock you over if you smell it.
As for the scheduling...
I do the best I can. If I can't work something in one day, I try to get it in the next.
I know that I should ideally be taking everything every day, but there aren't enough hours.
As it is, I am sometimes taking a probiotic or a vitamin or something in the middle of the night!
I am also taking questran -twice a day- which should be taken 2 hrs away from everything. That's 4 hours, twice each day.
Wow, now that I started complaining about this, I realize why I'm having so much trouble with it.
I can't be the only one.
