I'm thinking of trying this product and am wondering which is better, the original Wobenzym N that is red coated or the clear coated version.

I have an allergy to red dye... so for me... there is no choice.

Tincup,
Can I ask a kind of personal question? I read that the red ones have an additive that the clear ones don't have that is supposed to prevent the gas that enzymes can cause. Um....may I ask if the clear ones make you gassy?

Say WHAT?
ME? Gassy?
OH MY!
Actually, some things do, but I've never associated this product with that problem.
But then I only take ONE a day... more than that and I don't feel so good (very sensitive to meds). I've noted others here who do the same, BTW.
I also don't take mine on an empty stomach. There are different "actions" that it can accomplish... one on empty stomach and another action if taken with food. I can't remember which is which right now, but maybe someone here will?
I do try to make it the last pill in the cup full so it is a bit further away from a "full" stomach.
Sooooooo... my use of it may be different than most... therefore... I wouldn't want to say yes, for sure, or no for sure, as far as ... you know... gas goes.

I guess on an empty stomach it acts as an anti-inflammatory and helps break down fibrin in the blood and with food it acts as a digestive enzyme.
So, you only take one a day? I've heard there are some that take like 18-20 a day. Wonder how I'm supposed to know how much to take.
Well, I just ordered the original brand with the red coating so we'll see how it goes. Thanks for all the input!

That's right on an empty stomach. It's much too expensive to use as a digestive enzyme. One a day
will do you nothing. I used to take 8 three times a day and you can take even more. Work up slowly.
