I have long suspicioned, now, since finding I have Lyme/Bart, that some friends may have Lyme and Co's too.
While not everything is Lyme and Co. related..I wonder...could Tourettes syndrome be related to Lyme and Co's in some way?
Perhaps brain lesions/cysts pressing on various areas of the brain? causing damage?
Any tho'ts would be greatly appreciated !!!

Hi Silverwolf,
I posted a similar question a while back.
I have had Tourette's-like tics since I was a kid, and they never really went away, like many of the books say they will by adulthood.
I know when I'm feeling worse than usual, the tics seem to be worse.
Sometimes I'm convinced that at least some TS cases may be Lyme-related.

Hi there <<<<< Starfall' >>>>>,
Thanks for replying...I am really curious about this. The individual who was recently Dx'd w/ the TS is a late teen/young adult.
I suspect her mother may have passed Lyme to her pre-birth. [Her mom wouldn't really talk about the chance of Lyme disease for herself].
Anyone else have any tho'ts for we Curious folk?
Silverwolf still wondering

Silverwolf,
Dr John Bleiweiss mentions in his essay, "When To Suspect Lyme", that a 16 yr old boy who had Tourette's symptoms, had his symptoms resolved with Lyme treatment.
Here is the link.....scroll about 1/3 of the way down the page to the paragraph where you see bold print that says, "From Patients with Alzheimer's Disease"....it starts about a sentence after that.

I have a friend who's 11 year old boy tested clearly + for Lyme. He was treated with a 3 week course of doxy (by a non LLMD) and was told he was "all better."
2-3 months after tx, he started showing OCD tendencies and the doc also mentioned possible Tourettes. The mom, fortunately, is fairly well-versed on Lyme and now is questioning if he still has active Lyme infection or coinfections (never was tested for these). She is suspicious especially due to the timing, Lyme arthritic symptoms, pain, Lyme diagnosis, treatment, and now this, hmmm...all over the matter of say, 6 months or so.
She is now going to travel to have him fully evaluated with a well-known Lyme research neurologist. She has not ruled out giving further consideration to Tourettes, but wants the Lyme and company thoroughly investigated first.
I'd put my $ on Lyme and company...I mean...what does this disease NOT do, you know? With the crazy (almost unbelievable) array of symptoms it has caused me, I'd believe about anything. Certainly Tourettes is not far reaching...LD is a very neurological disease. TS
