Has anyone's llmd prescribed paquenil instead of flagyl to treat the cystic form of lyme?

I have read that some have used it for this. I am allergic to flagyl and am looking for alternatives.

Thanks for any info.

Tindamax is another alternative.

Have to get your vision checked frequently on plaquenil according

To my information provided by my pharmacy.

I had one Rx filled, but didn't take it as I don't have

The time or energy to do an eye exam more than once a year.

Hugs,

Geneal

I take Plaquenil for cysts too.

I believe it has been working because Flagyl used to give me KILLER herxes everytime I restarted it and after a while on Plaquenil, I restarted the Flagyl and had no herx at all.

I presumed the Plaquenil had been killing the cysts and went back on it.

My LLMD says it doesn't cause the same immediate and mass die off of Flagyl but it has proven in studies to destroy the cysts nucleic aid and eradicate them nonetheless, if just a bit slower.

It's good to know there are a couple of alternative ways to go about this.

I was really starting to worry, as the flagyl took no time at all to break me out.

Thanks guys for the info!! God bless.

In my experience plaquenil worked for about 3 months and then I seemed to plateau and slip backward. Flaygl seems to give me alot more improvement and heavier herx's.
