Ok I am making my discalimer now: I am not a dietician nor a Dr and may have made some clerical errors as this was long from copying the books reccs. But I am just trying to help.
The reason why Dr S says that the inflamation diet is imporant is that it too mimics lyme disease and lyme disease makes inflamtion, such as headaces and pain. Many abx can cause inflamation too.
I know many of us follow a yeast free or yeast restricted diet too so some of these foods in trying to incorporate that would have to be avoided if trying to combine both principals.
Anyway hope that helps.

You are very welcome. I have not tried it in total yet but have been incoorporating as much as I can from phase one. I plan on doing it though as I know it is important as we all have inflamation. His book is so good, if you can request it in from the library it would be a good read for all his other advice. Maybe a bit more difficult to locate as the book is new. He is an LLMD in Maryland= Dr S.
I am concentrating now on Yeast and the diet and Nystatin RX for now. I just started tx in Jan and was diag. in Dec with Bart (From Frye labs) and then Babs (low pos igg from Ignex and Lyme indeterm. band 41 only.
I am glad it will help and let us know how it goes.

LocalMan, I hear you--- as I too dropped weight quickly with the yeast diet. All this diet and abx and other things that go along with Lyme and Co. is all a lot of work. I agree totally. It would be hard to work and take care of family ect... I am a mom so I know how it is to be the care taker too. Maybe a lot of pre-planning.
Chamade, I just re-checked my book and it says as fruits 2-3 servings of allowed fruits per day in phase one on pg. 200 (top) Did you see some other reccs. on it on another pg in regards to being on abx? Please let us know? If so thank you for catching it.
Radfaraf, There are many diets that are strict but I think what Dr S is trying to say is that we need a well balanced diet that is low in inflamatory foods but yet nutritional sound from all the food categories. Or if you are asking why not just stick to phase one I guess some may have to or stay that course longer if need be. I believe that the reason for the Phases is to eliminate all inflamatory foods in the first place and then try to add some foods back in slowly, that may be more likely to cause some inflamation. Once the body has had time to heal, then Dr S. reccs. adding one new food every other day at a time to see how well one can handle it, during any phase after phase one.
I hope that helps and thanks for the input everyone.
