I have been on the full Cowden now for about 40 days. No major improvements yet, but I did't have any while on ABX either.

It is very difficult to follow at first, but after you get used to it, not so bad.

I am actually just stalling, since LLMD wants me on IV Rocephin. I opted to try the Cowden first.

Hi Kelly,

My computer is giving me problems so forgive me if this turns out to be a duplicate posting.

Most if not all of the Cowden links can be found at these sites:

www.bionatus.com/nutramedix/pages/lymepage.html

www.bionatus.com/nutramedix/pages/protocols.html

I have tried several of the Nutramedix products, mostly the antimicrobials. This is my personal experience with them.

Samento and Quina produced brutal herxing.

Banderol, Enula, Cumanda and Takuna less so.

Burbur did nothing for me.

All of them seemed to target different areas in me.

I can't say I'm a whole lot better though - some symptom improvement.

I should mention though that I am extremely ill and have been for many years.

I have had success with Cowden, Cumanda and Samento. I found that if I take Serrapeptase as well prior to Cumanda I get a better Herx. My second time around is producing better results. But it can take years.

Did those on Cowden use the NutraMedix products. Wow these are expensive so just wanted to check if you did or if you used just generic Samento, etc.

kellyb2411 -

Try www.myherbs.net. Back when I was on the original Cowden Protocol, which was much simpler, they sold the Nutramedix brand name products for $15 per bottle less than Nutramedix.

It has been about two years since I stopped Cowden, so I don't know if that site still exists, but no harm in trying.

Burubr did nothing for me, so I used mostly Chlorella, as well as other detoxers. I worked up the Chlorella dose slowly to avoid bowel cramps.

Cumanda made me have delayed herxes (3 days after raising the dose), but I was able to get up to full dosing.

Samento made me herx so hard I could not function, and after four years, I was still unable to go beyond 5 drops per day without screaming in pain, or take any after noon if I wanted to sleep at night.

I seem to be getting better results from Epicor, which does not kill anything, but increases Natural Killer cell populations by 400%. It also does not cause herxing. I do have more energy at least.

However, I am in "Stage IV", so I am a goner, and not expecting a cure, just trying to get some comfort and function out of the time I have left.

I hope it helps you,

klutzo

I was on the full protocol for about a year on & off (mostly on). I didn't want to take abx any more. I find that they were useful.

You may need to take them all together since they may have a synergistic effect.

You may be able to get some of the herb tinctures for less money if you search around for different brands. Some are fairy proprietary to Nutrimedix, though.

It's funny - we all react differently. I herxed alot from Cumanda & Quina. Samento didn't really effect me much. The Enula made me purge alot from my intestines. I haven't gotten to Banderol & Mora & some of the others.

Some are less overt but can be support herbs. You may not notice them as much.

Overall, I though it was a pretty good protocol but I don't know if I can say it's a cure just in & of itself. You may need to look for other things to add.

PS - Amanda, I think I've heard of people getting bicillin shots from Mexico for less money. I never did it but you may want to look into it.

Thanks.

I will probably continue abx if I go down this road as I don't believe herbal protocols can cure on their own.

Just a good adjunct to mix things up.
