Topic: Part of scalp very tender/hurts while rest of scalp does not??

So I've had this off and on.
Today a back, middle, left part of my scalp is very tender/hurts when I touch it or even just run my hand over it. The rest of my scalp is fine. I've had my husband look at it and he did not see anything. It's just very tender/hurtful to the touch with no apparent reason.
What is this all about? Anyone else ever notice this/have this happen?

OH yes. I have this even now. There was a discussion about it about 3 wks ago. Maybe you can do a search.
We all agreed it's just another blessing of Lyme!

My LLD says vasculitis. Some here say parasites. I say who knows.
It does go away.

I have had that too behind my right ear. Very annoying, but it did eventually fade away.

Feels like soreness of a bruise and no bruise is there.
It CAN get so painful it feels like the skin underneath is raw and like someone has poured acid on it... but UNDER the top layer of skin.
As if they removed the top layer and put the acid on the bottom layers then covered it back up.
Fun stuff.
Hope it doesn't spread. It is miserable like it is now.. but horrid when a lot of your body feels that way.

me too but especially when i used to color my hair; it would BURN in one area terribly; so i finally gave up on all the undue pain i was putting myself thru.
has any of your scalps turned completely RED which really stood out with my white hair? my former co-worker used to comment on that to me since my hair has thinned out so much too. thanks for any replies on RED SCALPS.

I get this too from time to time. Certain parts of my scalp will feel tender to the touch or almost like a soreness. It comes and goes and I have no idea what it is.

Lyme has a major parasitic component to it. Some people report feeling movement under their scalp, others report just soreness. Do a search here under scalp sores.

i never put thought into it until i saw this here, but this has been happening on and off for years. about the size of a qurter, feels like someone put their cigar out in one or two spots of my head. wow

shingles. usually one sided (on any part of the body) if you google shingles, you'll see more info.

I highly doubt it's shingles. It's not as tender/sore after three days of having it. It's pretty much gone now.

YES I have it right now.It is ricketisa ( Q Fever )and BABS/protozoa bug 100% in my case and a few bugs bart.It is not lyme in my case.
Before it used to be all of them .Parasites can also be a case of them ( nematodes ) and shingles are SO PAINFULL ..and I have endured this too...is there any more left that I have not been through.

For me it is vasculitis and nerve inflammation. Both of which can be symptoms of Lyme Disease. I tend to get it in areas of nerve bundles and larger veins (behind or just above ears, back of head, near base of skull on either side, temples, etc.). I cannot say what you or other people have, as I am not a Doctor or medical professional, but I have very similar if not exact symptoms to what you described.
There was another thread on this subject about 3 weeks ago and I wish I could find it, some other people posted with their hypotheses and their Doctors' thoughts.
