Are there any here who only have Babesia as a diagnosis?
Apparently I only have Babesia Duncani.
Please tell me exactly what medications and dosages you are taking.
My doctor who's not an LLMD is getting different information from different sources including LLMDs by consultation.

Malarone or Mepron with either Doxy or Minocin Mepron together with either. Mepron+Minocin or Mepron+doxy
Or Mepron+ Zithrowmax(Azithromycin)
I did with Mepron and biaxin Xl then Mepron with Minocin then Mepron with rifampin Then just Minocin for 2 months. Worked for me.

I am not sure if Minocin or Doxy would be the best choice with Mepron or Malarone if you do not have Lyme as well, non expert opinion.
Of course, if you do have babesia, you should not stop suspecting Lyme.
But, if you truly only have babesia, I would do Mepron with Zithromax or Mepron with Biaxin (second choice) and pulse the herb artemisinin 4 days on, 3 off, taking it in divided doses throughout the day (like 3 times a day)....if you can handle the artemisinin as well.
Oh...I just realized you have babesia duncani, not babesia microti. Hmmm. Most babesia treatment plans are tailored towards babesia microti. Granted, some physicians tell me the tests can cross react with each other.
Above would still work, but the artemisinin is more important. I would make that a "must" with duncani if you can handle it. Wish I would have known that first time taking Mepron.
Otherwise, if that doesn't provide you relief, another option is Malarone, 2-4 pills/day. Again, with Zithromax and pulsed artemisinin.
The reason I said no Minocin or Doxy is because it interfere's with the absorption of the Mepron and/or the Malarone, so if you don't have Lyme, not sure if it's worth it.
Whatever you take, once you stop the babesia med, I would continue with the artmesinin pulsed and the Zithromax (that one either pulsed or everyday i guess) if possible (if no Zith available, maybe do artemisinin with another anti-babesia herb) for at least six months after stopping treatment.
It's kind of like wearing a retainer after you get your braces off.
In my very non-expert opinion, that will help the treatment "stick." It seems to have worked for some people that will actually say they have beaten babesia. I don't know why, but this artemisinin stuff really helps the ppl it helps, if that makes sense.
I wish someone would have told me about art in the beginning, because I have duncani too, which is harder to get rid of than microti they say.
PS---if you want to try Minocin (minocycline) or doxy, you could do it after you stop Mepron and you are still on Zith and art. That could be an experiment to see if you have Lyme.

My doctor had an informal consult with an LLMD (he is someone I have heard his name many times on various boards) via correspondence and all that was noted besides the good fundamental facts for an unLLMD:
Doxy 200mg 2x per day Zithromax 250mg 2x per day OR 600mg once a day Mefloquine(Lariam) 250mg once every 5 days.
Is Lariam and Mepron similar?
Because my doctor DID NOT state to the LLMD I have the Duncani version, which is better?
NOW the LLMD did not state in the correspondence HOW LONG the treatment should be and my doctor presumes just one month.
Also what does it mean "Once every 5 Days?" in regards to Mefloquine? Only 5 days, stop for 2 days and another 5 days for a month?
Also where do I purchase online a good quality Artsim and at what dose?
This particular LLMD was kind enough to provide my doctor the basic treatment for Babesia via correspodence yet said this LLMD can no longer do this sort of correspondence consultation due to a very busy practice, which I understand...

Mepron is specifically contra-indicated with the tetracycline drugs like minocin and doxy.
Dr B states that in his literature and I had to stop the doxy while on the Mepron. The tetracycline drug reduces the effectiveness of the Mepron.
