Hi,

Does anyone know about the bart. test through this lab?

I saw my llmd today to get script for abx. for when I start trying to conceive in a few months and to ask her some questions related to lyme and pregnancy.

She drew blood for this test, said if I was positive for bart. I would have to treat that and wait to get pregnant.

I am 95% better, only symptoms left are ear symptoms and sciatic pain, which may or may not be related to the lyme infection, hard to tell.... have been off abx for 8 months, wanted to be off them and relatively symptom free for around a year before trying to conceive.

I am of course, hoping that it is not positive, but was wondering if anyone had an experience dealing with this lab?

thanks, maureen

Hmmmm...... I am pretty sure my LLMD said Speciality Labs, maybe it is a different lab....

I did find them online. When I find out more, I will post about it.

Clongen labs ( http://www.clongen.com ), has the best bartonella test out there as it tests for 20 different species of bartonella ($200)

I actually had my sons test through MDL right here in NJ and it came back positive for Bart.

They took our insurance too.....

I haven't heard of "Specialty Labs"..

I do know that Igenex,Clongen,Stony Brook(NY),MDL, and Fry Labs are all decent labs.

I had a positive Bart test through Quest, but I wouldn't recommend them for anything else.

I think it is a very good lab.

My 3 children see the famous Dr. J in CT and he uses Specialty Labs for bart hensalea. He uses Clongen for the myco fermentens test and uses Igenex for the babesia FISH and WA-1 tests. He also uses Igenex for the lyme WB test.

We have been seeing him for a year and this is what he repeatedly does for testing my children.

The Specialty labs test has picked up bart in all of my children. It is apparently owned by Quest so our insurance covered most of it.
