yes. I'm young and I have a few good hours after I wake up to get things done then it's downhill FAST. Then I'm so weak mentally/physically I am a vegetable the rest of the day.
good times

"overall weakness" is just part of the deal with lyme. - from the infection(s) - and the neuro, liver and adrenal dysfunction - that all goes with it.
Be sure to take naps when you feel the need. Dr. B says that is very important.

A search of "Elavil, fatigue" brings fatigue up as a common side-effect. It may even be listed on the Rx info. page as a side-effect.
I tried it years ago when it was touted as a "cure" for fibromyalgia/insomnia - and it did nothing but knock me out - body and brain - for days after even a tiny, tiny amount. I gave it many tried but could never adjust. I did far better off of it and all drugs in that class as it's cousins yielded the same knock-out punches.
The dry mouth it caused also contributed to some major dental problems and receding gum line. Be very careful of any drugs that cause dry mouth. It increases dental damage very fast.

Keeb's right. Overall tiredness is almost universal w/ Lyme infection. The exact reasons aren't really fully understood, but sluggish mitochondrial activity within the cells is a likely suspect.
There are things that can HELP (see Dr B's 2008 Guidelines) but only recovering from the disease (getting the BB count way down) thru abx & other methods discussed on these boards will restore your overall energy levels.
